Straight from Helsinki
Originally from Downpatrick, now living in Dublin's fair City, Steafán Hanvey has travelled the world and brought some of its music baqck with him.

Having lived in Seattle and Helsinki, his musical influences are diverse and his work colleagues even more diverse.

Having worked with the likes of Kieran Lynch, who recently wrapped up U2's new album, and also co-produced Elvis Costello's "When I was Cruel", Steafán's new album, "Steafán Hanvey and The Honeymoon Junkies", due out in the early new year, promises to be a real treat.

Recorded over an eighteen month period in the glamorous surroundings of a Helsinki studio, a Dublin studio, a Newry studio and the less glamorous surroundings of "his mate's house", the album was produced by Steafán himself, and mastered in London by Jon Astley, who has mastered Ash, Relish, Abba and Tori Amos among others. the album is a follow-up to a mini album recorded between 2000-2001, also in Helsinki.

Until now, Steafán Hanvey has been supporting the likes of John Spillane, Relish, the Hothouse Flowers, Damien Dempsey, The Devlins, Susan Enan and the Walls, and has recently returned from the States after a series of gigs in NY and Montreal.

And having had such a great success with his radio-released track, "Rooms" in June, Steafán is now planning to release a second single in January to accompany his new album.
